£10K Reward For 'Historic' Murder
Police officers are re-appealing for information and witnesses to a historic murder in Tottenham.
They said that at approximately 1.30am on Sunday 7 October 2001, 18-year-old Tyrone Rowe was shot dead in Caradon Way, Tottenham.
The incident occurred whilst the victim was with three friends in a red Ford Fiesta, registration G776 BRE. It is thought they may have been driving around the AlexandraPalace area looking for a party.
As they entered Caradon Way they were confronted by six or seven black men. A total of 11 shots were fired into the car by at least two of the suspects armed with handguns.
Tyrone was hit in the head and hand and died on 11 October at the Royal Free Hospital.
One of Tyrone's friends, the driver of the Fiesta, also received a gunshot to the chest, but survived.
Shortly after the incident, three black men were seen to make off in a lime green people carrier, possibly a Chrysler Voyager, towards the Turnpike Lane area. The vehicle has never been traced.
A reward of up to £10,000 remains on offer to anyone able to provide information which would lead to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.
DI Steve Horsley, Trident said: "Despite the passage of time, I am confident there are still people in the community who know who is responsible for Tyrone's murder and am appealing directly to those individuals to break their silence and come forward.
"Tyrone was not involved in criminality; he was a young man who enjoyed life. On the face of it this seems a pointless killing.
"It may be a case of mistaken identity. Maybe something happened just prior to the shooting and the suspects took immediate revenge. Perhaps something happened earlier as the boys searched for a party," he said.
"This was a callous crime and we need to bring justice for Tyrone's family, who has spent all these years living with the knowledge that those responsible for his murder are yet to be apprehended."
Patricia McLarty, Tyrone's mother, said: "After all this time we are still waiting for justice for Tyrone.
"My family has been left bereaved and angry, and we are unable to move on with our lives. I miss Tyrone. My family has been ruined. We just want someone to come forward and tell us what happened. I'm begging you, come forward, phone Crimestoppers. It will help us, please."

Arrests Made Over 2006 Double Murder
Officers from Trident, investigating gun crime in the capital, have arrested one man and two women in connection with the murder of Jordan Jackson and Leyla Djemal-Northcott in 2006. Following new information, police used a specialist diving team to search the Regent's Canal for the murder weapon.

Crimewatch Appeal On Teens Murder
The police are renewing their appeals for witnesses in connection with the murder of 19-year old Edvin Johnson. A TV Crimewatch reconstruction of Edvin's murder, including an emotional interview with his mother Genevieve, was broadcast this week in the hope that it will encourage witnesses to come forward.
