Royal Row Over Rathlin Lunch

VIP dining arrangements have been in focus after a right-royal row erupted on Rathlin Island on Wednesday. The Earl and Countess of Wessex were forced to dine at a local pub when their lunch arrangements at the grandly-named Rathlin Island hotel were suddenly cancelled. The row hit the scenic island of Rathlin when the royal couple's two-day tour of NI saw them ready to have lunch at the island's only hotel, the 18th century Manor House - only to have this changed at the last minute. Meanwhile, last Friday, Ian Paisley and his wife were given a warm welcome in Dublin where President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin hosted the couple for a lunch at her official residence, Aras an Uachtarain but the DUP founder Ian Paisley's visit has since been denounced by TUV leader Jim Allister who claimed the trip showed how far the DUP had "departed from its root and principles" and said that "such fraternisation with Dublin was once anathema".
