Drink-Driving Charge For Cricket Star
England cricketer Graeme Swann has been charged with drink-driving. The 31-year-old was charged last month after he was stopped in the West Bridgford area of Nottingham on April 2. He is due to appear before magistrates on August 16.
Second Rape At Music Festival
A 19-year-old man has been arrested, following a second allegation of rape at the Latitude festival in Suffolk. A 17-year-old girl from Suffolk told police on Saturday that she had been raped in a tent at the site on Friday evening. A 19-year-old man from Essex was arrested and later released on police bail until September 2. Police are not linking this attack to the first rape which happened at the festival on Thursday. In that incident, a 19-year-old woman was attacked after asking a group of men for directions to the toilets. Police are searching for a man described as white, in his 20s, with dark curly hair, about five foot seven inches tall, of medium build with a London accent. They are also keen to speak to a man, described as being of muscular build, with a shaved head, who was among the men who left the group before the attack. The victim was wearing denim leggings, a yellow and white check shirt, a black cardigan and Wellington boots at the time of the attack. Investigation Continues Into Torrington Fatal Fire
An investigation into a fire in Torrington, Devon, in which a man died is continuing. Fire crews were called to flats in Calf Street, Torrington, shortly after 5:30am on Sunday morning, where the man's body was discovered. The victim is understood to be a local man in his forties. His next of kin have been informed. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

Firefighters launch four-day strike
More than 1,000 firefighters across Merseyside have begun a four-day strike in protest over planned job cuts. Another four-day stoppage is scheduled to begin two hours after the first one ends.

Suspicious Glasgow Car Fires
Detectives in Glasgow's East End are investigating a spate of vehicle fire attacks in the city yesterday. Shortly after 3.30am police were called to a report of a vehicle fire in Ashvale Crescent, Glasgow. Upon arrival police were advised by Strathclyde Fire Service that four vehicles had been damaged by fire.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.
