Man Charged Over Woman's London Murder
A 19-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in south-east London at the weekend. The body of Toni Rudman, 24, was in North Road, Plumstead, on Saturday night. Ryan David Lee Backhouse, from Plumstead, has been charged with her murder and is due to appear before Woolwich Magistrates' Court.
Appeal On Double London Shooting
Police are appealing for information following a double shooting in east London on Saturday 7 August in Dagenham. A 23-year-old male was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to hospital where he is currently in a serious condition. The second victim, a 21-year-old man, is suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He is in a stable condition in hospital. Detectives from Trident would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident on 0208 785 8580, or anonymously on 0800 555 111
Arrest Over Fatal Newcastle Crash
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road crash which left a woman and her six-year-old daughter dead. The incident happened on Sunday night on the A1 in Newcastle when a black Jaguar collided with a red Jaguar, which was believed to be travelling in the wrong direction. The woman and child were both passengers in the black car. Two other occupants, a male driver, aged 37, and a six-month-old girl, were uninjured. A 61-year-old man from Blyth has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He also received minor injuries in the crash. Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
Fourth Man Bailed Over Crawley Shooting
A fourth man arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a man in Crawley, west Sussex, has been released on police bail, pending further inquiries. The 48-year-old was arrested last Friday on suspicion of attempted murder, in relation to the shooting of a 29-year-old man in Park Way, Pound Hill on August 3. The victim suffered minor leg injuries in the attack. Police have confirmed that the man had previously been the victim of an arson attack on July 5, when his window was smashed and accelerant poured into the house, causing damage to the living room. A possible link between the two incidents is being investigated. Three men, aged 24, 25 and 26, who had been arrested earlier in connection with the incident, were released on police bail on Friday evening.

Police investigating the murder of a woman found dead in the New Forest have arrested a second man. 47-year-old Penelope Davis was found with multiple stab wounds in a field at Leygreen Farm in Beaulieu on 2nd September. Police arrested a 36-year-old man on Tuesday evening in Southampton in connection with the murder.

French Police Arrest Man Over Alps Murder Of British Family
A man has been arrested by French police in connection with the murder of a British family in the Alps in 2012. The 48-year-old man from the Haute-Savoie region is being held in formal custody, French police have said. It is understood that the man was arrested following the publication of an identikit image released in November.

A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested today in connection with the murder of Albert Wright. Police were alerted to a stabbing around midnight on Friday 25 February. The body of Albert Wright, 80 (also known as Bert) was found by his son at Albert's home in Trelawney Road. A post-mortem gave cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

The Metropolitan Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Syrian-born preacher in north-west London. 48-year-old Abdul Hadi Arwani was found shot dead in a car on Tuesday in Wembley. It is understood that counter-terrorism police have been leading the investigation into his murder.
