Wolverhampton Stab Murder Probed

Police in Wolverhampton have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death on Thursday night.

The incident happened around 10:45pm in Crosby Close, Whitemore Reans. The victim, believed to be aged 24 and from the local area, was taken to hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.

Two other men were also stabbed and were taken to hospital where their is described as serious, but stable.

The dead man has not yet been named and a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

The scene remains cordoned off, while a forensic examination and searches take place.

Dublin man killed in gangland-style attack
A man has been shot dead in a gangland-style attack carried out by two masked men in a crowded Dublin pub. Singled out in the crowded Brockwood Inn in Corduff in the Blanchardstown area of west Dublin, the man was shot twice in the chest by his assailants. Taken to a nearby hospital, the victim was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Man Stabbed To Death In Manchester
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed a man has been stabbed to death and another has been injured following an attack in the city. Both men, who are believed to be in their 20s, were found by emergency crews on Parry Road in Longsight, shortly after 00:40am this morning (Thursday).

Murder Inquiry Into Deaths Of Man And Baby
Police in Lancashire have launched a murder inquiry into the death of a man and a baby, but are not looking for other suspects. Preston police said on Thursday that the two were found at around 6.15pm on Wednesday after police were called to an address on Marl Hill Crescent in Ribbleton.

British troops have been sent to a town in Afghanistan where riots are continuing over the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. The troops were sent to an airfield in the northwestern town of Meymaneh, after a mob tried to storm a NATO peacekeeping base.
