Spanish Car Crash Kills British Twins

Nine-year-old twin girls from London have been killed in car crash while on a family holiday in Spain.

Paria Najmi was killed instantly when her parents' car overturned and rolled several times on a motorway in the Navarra province in northern Spain on Wednesday.

Her sister Galia was critically injured in the crash and died later in hospital.

The girls' parents, father Homayoun Najmi and mother Farzaneh Heidari, are being treated in hospital. Mr Najmi is in intensive care, while his wife was being treated for shock and other minor injuries.

It is not yet known what caused the crash, but it is believed that no other vehicles were involved.

It has been reported that neither of the girls were wearing seatbelts, but local police have refused to comment.

The crash occurred three days after two British children were killed in a car crash in a neighbouring Spanish province.

Amir Khan, 2, and his one-year-old sister Amelle, died on Sunday after their parents car veered off a motorway and slide down a grass bank in the Burgos province.

Their parents and two older siblings were treated in hospital following the crash.
