Afghan Helicopter Crash Claims Nine

A helicopter crash in the south of Afghanistan, has claimed the lives of nine troops.

NATO reported that four others were injured, including two NATO troops, a US civilian and an Afghan soldier.

It is believed that none of the dead were British, however the nationalities of the dead have not yet been officially confirmed.

An investigation into the crash will be launched, although the exact location of the crash has yet to be determined.

The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said there was no enemy fire in the area.

According to iCasualties.org, this takes the NATO death toll in 2010 to 529, confirming this year to be the deadliest of the past nine years.

British Tourist Killed In Turkish Balloon Crash
A British man has died and nine others have been injured in a hot-air balloon crash in central Turkey. According to reports from the Anatolia news agency, the balloon dropped 200 metres shortly after leaving Nevsehir province for a tour of the Cappadocia region.
