Teen Charged With Aylward Murder

A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of teenager Rebecca Aylward.

The teenagers body was discovered about 0900 BST on Sunday morning in woodland area just near Bridgend in South Wales.

Rebecca, aged 15 and from Maesteg, died of head injuries.

The suspect has been remanded to secure accommodation during a brief youth court hearing in Bridgend.

South Wales Police said another boy who was arrested over her death was released without charge,

Her family described her as "happy, outgoing and bubbly."

She was last seen in Sarn Hill, Sarn, near Bridgend, at about 1230 BST on Saturday after being dropped off by relatives to visit a friend.

Rebecca's mother reported her missing later that evening when she failed to return home.

Paul Burke, Detective Superintendent said: "Our thoughts are with Rebecca's family who are naturally devastated.”

Flowers have been laid near the spot where her body was found.

Her school and Bridgend County Borough Council said youth workers and counsellors were being provided for anyone affected by Rebecca's death.

Detectives Find Body In Missing Kirsty Hunt
Detectives investigating the disappearance of a model have discovered a body, it has emerged. Kirsty Grabham, 24, went missing from her home in Rosehill Terrace, Swansea, over a week ago. South Wales Police said a body was discovered in the Laleston area of Bridgend.

Complaints against the police over how they handled a horrific infanticide have not been upheld. Swansea Crown Court heard details in 2006 of how 13-month-old Aaron Gilbert had been so badly beaten by his mother's boyfriend he looked "like the Elephant Man".

Another Body Found In Bridgend
Another body of a young person has been found in Bridgend, South Wales. The body of 16-year-old Jenna Parry was found in woodland near the village of Cefn Cribwr early on Tuesday morning. The death is the 17th suspected suicide in the area and follows the deaths of two cousins last week in apparently unconnected incidents.
