Three Children Die In House Fire

Three children have died in a house fire in East Yorkshire.

A 27-year-old woman, thought to be the children's mother, is also being treated for life-threatening injuries at Scarborough General Hospital.

The fire broke out, before midnight, at the property in Clarence Avenue, Bridlington.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the children had died. Their ages have not been disclosed.

A fire service spokeswoman said: "It is too early at this stage to ascertain the cause of the fire, but it is believed the fire started inside the property.

"Police and the fire service are investigating."

At this stage it has not been confirmed whether the fire is being treated as suspicious.
