London Riot CCTV Images Released

Police investigating disorder during the NUS march in central London last Wednesday, have released 13 images of individuals they wish to speak to.

The images were captured in the Millbank Tower area where protestors smashed windows and threw missiles at officers.

Following the disorder, the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) launched Operation Malone. Initially 54 people were arrested in connection with the disorder in central London on 10 November. All were taken to various London police stations and later bailed to return pending further inquiries. Of these, the majority gave their occupation as 'students' or a variation thereof.

33 were men and 21 women. 43 are aged between 18 and 26 years, 1 is in their early 30s, and 10 are juveniles.

On Friday 12 November police in Cambridgeshire, acting on behalf of the MPS, arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of violent disorder, and he was taken to a Cambridgeshire police station.

Officers interviewed the student, and later that night he was bailed to return to a London police station pending further inquiries. This arrest follows an investigation into the incident where a fire extinguisher was thrown from the roof of Millbank Tower.

The same day, an 18-year-old man attended Folkestone Police Station and was arrested by officers on suspicion of violent disorder. MPS officers interviewed the student, he too was bailed pending further inquiries.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder on Saturday 13 November. He has since been bailed to a date in mid-February.

On Monday 15 November a 18 year old male attended Totton police in Hampshire and was arrested by Hampshire police officers on behalf of the MPS. He is being held in a central London police station on suspicion of attempted murder.
