Jo Yeates Murder Accused Remanded

The 32-year-old neighbour accused of the murder of Jo Yeates, has appeared in court via a video link.

Vincent Tabak confirmed his name to the Judge at Bristol Crown Court before saying he could hear the proceedings.

He appeared by video link from HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire and made no application for bail.

The 25-year-old Landscape Architect was found on Christmas day in Longwood Lane, Failand, eight days after she was reported missing from her home in Clifton, Bristol.

It was reported on Monday that Miss Yeates' body was released to her family by the coroner.

Mr Tabak was remanded in custody to appear before the same court on 4 May.

Miss Yeates was last seen around 8pm on 17 December after she had been out with colleagues in the Bristol Ram pub in Park Street.

A post-mortem examination revealed she had been strangled.

Bristol Assault Baby Dies
It has emerged today that a baby boy has died in hospital in Bristol - three weeks after his father was charged with injuring him. The victim, three-month-old Kodi Martin suffered serious head injuries in an incident in Plymouth on November 1. Police officers said that he died yesterday at Bristol Children's Hospital.

A post-mortem examination revealed that she had been strangled.

Man Charged With Joanna Yeates Murder
Police have charged a 32-year-old Dutch man with the murder of Joanna Yeates. The 25-year-old landscape architect was found on Christmas day in Longwood Lane, Failand, eight days after she was reported missing from her home in Clifton, Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police said Vincent Tabak, arrested on Saturday, lived next door to Yeates in Bristol.

Guesthouse Owners Lose Supreme Court Appeal
The owners of a guesthouse, ordered to pay almost £4,000 to a couple they refused to allow in their business because they are gay, have lost their Supreme Court appeal. In 2008 Steven Preddy and Martyn Hall were turned away from Hazelmary and Peter Bull's Cornwall guesthouse, Chymorvah House.
