CCTV Images Released Following Bus Driver Assault

Officers from the joint Metropolitan Police Service and Transport for London Safer Transport Command Workplace Violence Unit are appealing for information in connection with an assault in Camden.

The incident occurred on Monday, 10 January around 7pm, on board a route 59 bus, which was stationary on Eversholt Street in north west London.

Police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and found the victim, a female bus driver, whose face was covered in blood.

She had been punched in the face by the suspect who was attempting to board the bus.

She was taken by LAS to University College Hospital and discharged later that evening.

The suspect is described as male, with short dark hair, wearing a dark padded jacket and denim trousers. The ethnicity of the man is not known, but he may have spoken with a foreign accent.

DC Anthony Barun, Investigating Officer said: "Euston would have been busy with commuters and there must have been people who saw the incident. We are appealing for anyone who recognises this man or knows of his whereabouts to contact us. We believe he may have been travelling towards Streatham."
