Two Arrested On Suspicion Of Phone-Hacking

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service's Operation Weeting team have today arrested two journalists on suspicion of unlawfully intercepting mobile phone voicemail messages.

Although Scotland Yard have refused to confirm their identities, the BBC have named Chief Reporter Neville Thurlbeck, 50, and former News Editor Ian Edmondson, 42.

The News of the World and its owner News International have not commented.

The men were arrested after attending separate police stations in south west London by appointment.

They remain in custody for questioning after being arrested on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications, and unlawful interception of voicemail messages.

The Operation Weeting team is conducting the new investigation into phone hacking. No further details are available at this time.

Sky News Cameraman Killed In Egypt
A Sky news cameraman has been shot and killed while covering the ongoing violence in Cairo, Egypt. The broadcaster confirmed the death of 61-year-old Mick Deane on Wednesday. Mr Dean had worked for Sky for 15 years. In a statement, Head of Sky News, John Ryley, paid tribute to an "experienced journalist" and a "much-loved colleague".
