Man Shot In Aintree
A man has been injured following a shooting in Aintree this morning. Police were called to Wango Lane around 1:55am after receiving a report that a 24-year-old man had been shot. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to wounds to his buttock and stomach and he remains in a serious condition. Five-Year-Old Girl Killed In Crash
A five-year-old girl has been killed in a road traffic collision in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The incident happened just before 6pm on Monday August 8 at the Heath Common Caravan Park on Doncaster Road, Wakefield and involved a red transit van. The girl, who has not been named, was taken to Pinderfields Hospital, but later died of her injuries. A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody. Witnesses are asked to contact police on: 0845 6060606.
Man Charged Over Carlisle Sex Assault
A man has been charged with sexually assaulted a woman who was attacked in Carlisle last week. The 29-year-old victim was attacked as she walked along Lonon Road in the early hours of August 5. Jan Sziachetka, 27, of Fusehill Street, Carlisle, has been charged with sexual assault and false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence. He is due to appear before Carlisle Magistrates' Court later today.

Man Arrested For House Death In Carlisle
A man found dead at his home in Stonegarth, Carlisle is Karl Celmins, police have confirmed. He was discovered by a member of the public on 26 April around 7.30pm. Results from a post mortem show that Mr Celmins, 46, suffered "pressure to his neck".

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Suspected London bomber to be returned to UK
A British man wanted for questioning in connection with the failed London bomb attacks on July 21 is to be extradited to the UK within 35 days, an Italian court has ruled. Osman Hussein (27) will appeal the decision to the Italian Supreme court, according to his lawyers.
