Jersey Stabbings Suspect 'Named'

The man suspected of killing six people, including his wife and children, in Jersey at the weekend has been named locally as Damian Rzeszowski.

The 30-year-old has been arrested in connection with the stabbings and remains in Jersey General Hospital, under police guard, after receiving emergency surgery.

Mr Rzeszowska's wife, Izabela, their two children, his father-in-law and a family friend and her five-year-old daughter are all believed to have been stabbed to death in a flat in the Jersey capital of St Helier on Sunday afternoon.

Police had been called to Upper Midvale Road, following reports of an incident at a flat in Victoria Crescent, which then spilled out onto the street.

All of the victims are understood to be Polish.

On Monday afternoon, police confirmed that a post-mortem had been carried out on one of the women who had died, with the cause of death being multiple stab wounds.

The rest of the post-mortems are expected to be carried out over the next few days.
