Tasered Man 'Died From Stab Wounds'

A man from Greater Manchester who died after he was Tasered by police after he stabbed himself, died from his stab wounds, a post-mortem has revealed. Officers were called to Philip Hulme's home on Salford Road, Over Hulton, around 8:30pm on Tuesday following reports that he had barricaded himself inside the house with a knife and stabbed himself. When officers attended the scene, Mr Hulme, 53, threatened them and they used a Taser. It was then discovered that he had a serious stab wound to his stomach and he was taken to hospital for treatment, but died a short time later. The case was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, because a Taser was used.

Dead Frizington Woman Named

Cumbria Police have named the woman who was found dead in her home in Frizington as Rita Boyd, 60, of Rydal Street. Emergency services found Mrs Boyd was found dead at her home shortly after 11:30pm on August 23. Police were called and a 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, but he has since been released without charge. Mrs Boyd's death is being treated as unexplained and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is continuing.

'Jogging' Witness Sought After Bramhope Sex Assault

Police in Leeds have appealed for help in tracing a man who helped a 17-year-old girl after she was sexually assaulted in a taxi on her way home from a night out. The teenager caught a taxi home in the early hours of August 19. After being sexually assaulted, she demanded that the car was stopped and got out in Leeds Road, Bramhope. A man, who from his clothing appeared to be out jogging, came across the girl in a distressed state and walked her home. Police are keen to trace the man as they believe he may have information that could assist the investigation. Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

London bombings ‘suspect’ charged
A man arrested last weekend in connection with the July 7 London bombings has been charged with wasting police time. Imran Patel, 27, from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was arrested last Saturday, on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism. The arrest followed a tip-off from the ‘News of the World’.

Rory Blackhall died of suffocation, police reveal
Police investigating the murder of eleven-year-old Scottish schoolboy Rory Blackhall have revealed that he died of suffocation. Rory’s body was found in woodland in the Livingston area of West Lothian on Sunday afternoon. He disappeared on Thursday morning, after his mother dropped him off in a lay-by close to Meldrum Primary School.

Pilot Who Fell Ill Dies after Passenger Safely Lands Plane
A passenger has been forced to make an emergency landing at Humberside Airport after the plane's pilot became ill. Police have confirmed the pilot later died, however they were unable to confirm the cause of death. His family has been informed. Two flight instructor talked to the passenger as he took control of the plane.
