UK Talent Recognised With Grammy Nominations

English singer songwriter Adele is keeping up appearances for the UK music industry after gaining six Grammy nominations- similarly Mumford and Sons and Coldplay will also represent the UK on the world music stage with their nominations.

British folk act Mumford & Sons have four nods, including for record and song of the year, for The Cave. Adele’s nominations also include song and record of the year for Rolling in the Deep and the album, 21.

Coldplay, with Paradise, are nominated for best pop duo/group performance as is Body and Soul, a duet by Tony Bennett and the late Amy Winehouse.

Nominations for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards were announced last night by The Recording Academy and reflected an eclectic mix of the best and brightest in music over the past year, as determined by the voting members of The Academy.

For the fourth year, nominations for the annual Awards were announced on primetime television as part of The Grammy Nominations Concert Live.

Tina 'Rollin' Into UK Next Year
Iconic singer Tina Turner will play four UK dates next year. The performer will play two gigs in London and two in Manchester, in March 2009. Turner, 68, played a 'farewell' world tour in 2000 to 120,000 fans but she revealed earlier this month that she planned a comeback tour of the US.
