PM Meets With French President
Prime Minister David Cameron is to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy to discuss the Eurozone crisis and to try and prevent the single currency from breaking up. The two men will meet in Paris to discuss the debt, which is crippling Europe and threatens to drag Britain back into recession. Meanwhile they will also enter into talks about reorganising the euro zone governances, leading to more co-operation from the 17 EU members, and in turn may marginalise Britain’s influence in the EU. This move will be considered by the European Council next week.
Jobs Lost At Tata Steel
Due to "continuing poor demand" 115 jobs will be lost at Tata Steel plant in Newport with the immediate halt of productions. Tata Steel said the temporary mothballing of the mill will remain in place until the UK economy and steel industry justify the restart of operations. The move will see an end to jobs for contract workers. Agency workers and others on fixed term contracts.
Katie Price To Comp Andre Over Her Comments
Glamour model Katie Price has apologised to her ex husband Peter Andre after making claims that he did not care about her, cheated on her and his feelings were not genuine for her son Harvey. Ms Price has also agreed to pay compensation to Mr Andre which he said he will pay into a trust for Harvey and use to make contributions to his legal fees.
Health Experts Issue Food Poisoning Warning
Health experts have released warning over a potential food poisoning risk. This follows research that revealed the chance of food poisoning from undercooked chicken or duck liver pate. New figures show that more than 90% of outbreaks of Campylobacter - the most common form of bacterial food poisoning - at catering venues in 2011 were linked to people eating such pate.

Food Poisoning Bug Found In 73% Of Chickens - FSA
73% of freshly bought chicken contains the food poisoning bug campylobacter, according to a Food Standards Agency (FSA) report. The FSA report released today, 28 May, tested over 4000 samples of fresh whole chilled chickens and packaging from retailer and independent stores.

Tata Steel Cut 900 Jobs Nationwide
900 jobs are to be axed by Tata Steel across the UK, almost 600 of which will be at plants in Wales. It is understood most of the Welsh losses will be management and administrative posts in Port Talbot and Llanwern near Newport. 155 jobs in Yorkshire will go, alongside 120 in the West Midlands and 30 on Teesside.

British Tourist Dies In Suspected Food Poisoning
A British tourist has died with suspected food poisoning at a hotel in northern Italy. Geoffrey Appleyard, 71, from Evesham, Worcestershire died in the early hours of Sunday. His next of kin have been informed and a post mortem is being held. Mr Appleyard was treated by paramedics in his hotel room after becoming ill, but died shortly afterwards.
