Hugh Grant To Give Evidence On Privacy
English actor Hugh Grant is to renew his assault on shady journalistic practices- he will give evidence to politicians today.
The Four Weddings and a Funeral star talked to the Leveson Inquiry last month about journalists intruding on his privacy. He will now be giving evidence to the Joint Committee on Privacy and Injunctions.
Grant has already made claims that his voice mail messages were hacked by journalists at the Mail on Sunday and that The Sun invaded his privacy by publishing details of his medical records. These are allegations that both newspapers flatly deny.
Comedian Steve Coogan and former F1 boss Max Mosley are also due to speak to the MPs and peers.
The Background
The Prime Minister announced the two-part inquiry to investigate the role of the press and police in the phone-hacking scandal, on 13 July 2011. Lord Justice Leveson was appointed as Chairman of the Inquiry. The inquiry then becoming known as the Leveson Inquiry.
The first part will examine the culture, practices and ethics of the media. In particular, Lord Justice Leveson will examine the relationship of the press with the public, police and politicians. He is assisted by a panel of six independent assessors with expertise in key issues being considered by the Inquiry.

Police Appeal For Witnesses To 'Horrific Attack' In Glasgow
An investigation into a "horrific attack" in Glasgow last week has been upgraded to a murder inquiry following the death of Stephen McGinlay. Mr McGinlay (26) was attacked by three men on St George's Road in Glasgow at about 17:50 on Thursday 02 October. He died in Glasgow Royal Infirmary on Sunday.

Public Inquiry Into Stafford Hospital Opens
A public inquiry into failings at Stafford Hospital has opened today. The start of the inquiry, at the offices of Stafford Borough Council, was reportedly delayed because one of the relatives objected because family members and the media were in a different room to that of the inquiry Chairman Robert Francis QC and his panel.
