Teen Arrested In Connection With Freckleton Fire

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a house fire that claimed the lives of four in Lancashire at the weekend.

Reece, Ella and Holly and Jordan Smith were found in two attic bedrooms of the dormer bungalow in Lytham Road, Freckleton, Lancashire on Saturday last.

Post-mortem tests revealed that the siblings aged from 19 to two years –old died from the result of breathing in smoke.

It is understood the blaze started inside a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms.

The arrested 18-year-old is not a member of the family according to a police spokesperson who also confirmed that the fire is now being treated as suspicious.

The police are following a number of lines of inquiry and have spoken with a number of people who were at the house on the night in question.
