Search Continues For 4-Year-Old Who Fell From Jetty

The search for a four-year-old boy who fell into water near a jetty in Burnham-on-Sea is continuing.

Emergency services were called just after 18:00 on Sunday.

An air and sea search involving coastguard rescue teams, lifeboats and an RAF helicopter was scaled back at dusk but continued overnight.

It resumed at full strength at 5am on Monday, with rescue teams from Clivedon, Watchet and Portishead, along with RNLI lifeboats from Burnham-on-Sea, looking for the missing boy.

A statement from the coastguard said: "The parents of the child have been treated on scene after they went in after the boy and required medical treatment for water ingestion."
