Men Questioned Over Salford Flat Death

A man has died at a flat in Salford.

Shortly before 1.30am on Tuesday 2 October 2012, police were called by the ambulance service to an address on Sycamore Court in Pendleton.

Officers attended and found that a 39-year-old man had suffered a serious chest injury and been pronounced dead at the scene.

Police inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this man’s death. A Home Office post-mortem is due to take place later today.

Two men, aged 65 and 45 have been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Andy Cunliffe said: "This investigation is at an early stage and a team of detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to this man’s death.

"I would like to try and reassure people living in the area that this appears to be an isolated incident and I would ask people not to speculate about what they think may have happened.

"If anyone has any information that may help police with their inquiries, no matter how small it may be, then please get in touch."
