British Man Stabbed To Death In South Africa

A British man has been killed during a robbery at his farm in South Africa, local police have confirmed.

Christopher Preece, 54, originally from Southgate, north London, is believed to have bled to death after three armed men attacked him with machetes.

The attack happened when he went to check why his power was cut at his home near Ficksburg on Saturday night.

His wife was seriously wounded and is currently being treated in hospital.

The robbers stole approximately $350 (£220) and a mobile phone.

Man Arrested On Behalf Of South African Authorities
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service's Extradition Unit yesterday, arrested Shrien Prakash Dewani, 30, on behalf of the South African authorities. Mr Dewani surrendered himself at a Bristol police station and was arrested at 10.
