Knife Attacker Pleads Guilty

A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a Liverpool fan in London.

Alex Jarmay from Bromborough in Wirral was in London with his brother and friends to watch Liverpool play Cardiff at Wembley Stadium.

But the night before the match he was stabbed at Bar Uno in Inverness Street, Camden.

Paul Beck, 29, of Kentish Town, has admitted murder. His brother Damien, 24, has admitted wounding Luke Jarmay, 22.

The pair are due to be sentenced on Thursday. They changed their pleas at the beginning of the trial.

Aberdeen Men Jailed Following Knife Attack

Two Aberdeen men have been jailed following a knife attack on an elderly couple.

Lee Hipson, 19, and Albert Massie, 22, carried out the attack in Upper Mastrick Way in Aberdeen on Christmas Eve last year.

Victim Thomas Raitt, 51, was slashed on the face as he attempted to help his wife Jeeraporn, 37, as the robbers grabbed her handbag.

Hipson will be detained for six years and nine months. Massie received a sentence of five years and 10 months.

Dog Killed During Burglary

A pet dog has been killed in an attack during a burglar in Hampshire.

The collie, named Red, was hit on the head with a heavy object while chained to her kennel outside the garage of the home in Ropley, near Winchester.

Burglars forced open the garage doors of the property and carried out the attack in the early hours between last Friday night and Saturday morning.

They then fled empty-handed.

Red was discovered by the family the next morning, who took the one-year-old dog to the vet. She had to be put down, such was the extent of her injuries.

The family are said to be devastated.

£40,000 Hammer Stolen In Dundee

A two-tonne hydraulic hammer worth £40,000 has been stolen in Dundee.

Police are currently investigating the theft from a building site in the city.

The Sandvik hydraulic hammer was removed from Myrekirk Road between 17:00 on Thursday 22 November and 08:00 the next day.

Police say a vehicle would have been needed to transport the tool.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area at the time.

Two Arrested In North Yorkshire After Man In Coma Dies
North Yorkshire Police have arrested two people on suspicion of murder following the death of a 47-year-old who had spent more than two years in a coma. Stephen Eastwood was left with serious injuries after a hammer attack in March 2012 in York. In May this year, Mr Eastwood died after more than two years in a coma.

Dog Owning Attacker Guilty Of Murder
A dog owner who ordered his pet to attack a 16-year-old boy before stabbing him has been convicted of murder. Crisdian Johnson, 22, of Quinton House, Wyvil Road, was charged on 30 April 2009 with the murder of Oluwaseyi 'Seyi' Ogunyemi, 16. The victim was known to family and friends as Seyi - pronounced 'Shay'.

Owners To Face Longer Sentences Over Dog Attacks
Irresponsible dog owners who allow their dog to attack people or assistance dogs will face tougher prison sentences from today, Tuesday. Changes to the Dangerous Dogs Act will also mean dog owners can now face prosecution if their dog attacks a person in their home or on any private property, except if they attack a trespasser.

Prison Does Not Put Teens Off Carrying Knives, Report Says
Teenagers believe they are more likely to be 'tagged' by the courts for carrying a knife, rather than have to face tough sentences, research has revealed. The report 'Why Carry A Weapon?' questioned a group of teens aged from 14 to 16 who had either been excluded from school or were serving time in custody.

Police Search For Three Men Following Hammer Attack
Birmingham police are looking for three men after an elderly woman was hit with a hammer in an attempted robbery in her Sparkbrook home. The three men broke into a flat above a business premises on Ladypool Road at around 6.30pm on Friday 7 February, where the 66-year-old woman was attacked.
