Olympic Bottle Thrower In Court

A man who threw a bottle on to the track at the start of the men's Olympic 100m final shouted that he wanted defending champion Usain Bolt to lose, a court has heard.

Ashley Gill-Webb, of South Milford, North Yorkshire, was arrested at the Olympic Stadium on 5 August.

Dutch judo champion Edith Bosch said she had heard him shout, "Bolt, I want you to lose".

After the plastic beer bottle was thrown, Ms Bosch said she had confronted him saying "Dude, are you crazy?"

Security personnel detained Mr Gill-Webb, 34, who had pushed his way to the front of an exclusive seating area which he did not have a ticket for.

Mr Gill-Webb denies two public order offences.

Live Nation Look To Olympic Stadium As New Venue

Live Nation, the world's biggest live music company which last year quit Hyde Park as a venue, is in talks to host gigs at the Olympic stadium in East London from this summer.

The company is understood to be in advanced talks to host events at the London Olympic stadium, which is set to re-open with an anniversary weekend of music gigs on the 27 and 28 July to mark the first anniversary of the start of the 2012 games.

Live Nation has been considering its options since quitting Hyde Park after more than a decade of putting on music events including Live 8, the Wireless Festival and Hard Rock calling.

The company pulled out of negotiations to renew its Hyde Park deal in October, citing issues including noise restrictions and a "flawed" tender process for the contract to host large-scale events from 2013 to 2017.

Power Restored To Transmitter After Fire

Electricity has been restored to the Bath transmitter which feeds television and radio broadcasts to 80,000 homes after a fire caused a power cut.

The fire, which was reported shortly before 06:00 on Thursday, took hold in three sheds at the site in Bathampton.

All Freeview television channels, BBC Radio Bristol's 104.6 FM, national analogue, digital radio channels and mobile networks were affected.

Avon and Somerset Police believe the fire was started deliberately.
