Man Dies In Lake District Fall
A man has died in a fall at the Lake District on Saturday afternoon.
Kendal and Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Teams were called after a group of ramblers diverted from a planned route due to a navigational error.
The group ended up on steep ground on the east face of Crinkle Crags.
The man's body was recovered and the rest of the group helped down.
A helicopter from RAF Valley has been called to assist but could not, due to low cloud and wind conditions.
Arrests Follow Cardiff Stabbing
South Wales Police have arrested two men after a 28-year-old man was stabbed in Cardiff.
The incident occurred at Riverside. Police were alerted to the scene in Clare Street after they were at 23:34 on Saturday.
The victim suffered injuries which are not considered to be life-threatening.
Police are continuing their investigation.
Man Stabbed At Gatecrashed Party
A man has been stabbed in Bedfordshire after a birthday party was gatecrashed.
An 18-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder and back at the event in Chelsea Gardens in Houghton Regis at 22:15 on Friday.
It is thought the victim was hit with a bottle and stabbed three times as he went to the aid of friend who was being assaulted.
Motorist Dies In Edinburgh Collision
A motorist has died and a female passenger left seriously injured following a road collision in Edinburgh.
The accident happened at the Clovenstone Roundabout on the B701 Western Hailes Road at about 13:30, when the 22-year-old man’s car collided with a lorry.
The owner of the Honda CRX car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 26-year-old passenger was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, while the lorry driver is not thought to have been seriously hurt.

Police Shoot Man Following Stabbing Incident In Hersden
A man has been shot by police after being called to attend an incident in Hersden where a woman was stabbed. Police initially attended the scene at around 11.20pm on Sunday followed by firearms officers and police negotiators. The man and woman, who are members of the same family, are both in a critical condition in hospital.

Merseyside Stabbing Victim Named
Police have identified a woman who was stabbed to death at a house in Merseyside on Sunday. Anne-Marie Cleary, a 41-year-old mother-of-two, was found at an address in Oarside Drive, Wallasey by paramedics around 2pm on Saturday. She was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital, but later died. A post-mortem revealed that she died from stab wounds.

Teens held over fatal stabbing
Two teenagers are being questioned after a 21-year-old man of mixed-race was stabbed to death in what police have described as a racially motivated stabbing. The man, who has not yet been named, was stabbed during a fight at Byron Street, in Garston, Merseyside on Sunday at around 1pm.
