Missing Student's Family Fly To Hungary

The family of a student missing in Hungary has flown to Budapest.

23-year-old medical student Daniel Gliksten was last seen celebrating the New Year with friends.

Hungarian police have launched an investigation.

Mr Gliksten's family are working with Hungarian authorities and the British and Swedish embassies. The missing man holds both British and Swedish nationality.

He was seen leaving the Otkert bar in Zrínyi Street in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

He is described as white, 6ft 2ins tall, slim build and with short brown hair.

Arrest Over Russian Woman's Murder

The boyfriend of a 23-year-old Russian woman who was found dead at a South London flat has been arrested.

Anastasia Voykina’s body was discovered at a property in James Boswell Close, Streatham, on Monday.

A report showed she died from multiple fractures to the face, head and neck.

27-year-old Felipe Lopes was arrested in south London and is being questioned by detectives.

The victim last spoke to her family on 30 December.

Teenager Arrested Over South Wales Murder

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 45-year-old man in South Wales.

Officers were called to Cardiff Road in Aberaman, near Aberdare, at 03:20 on Wednesday morning in connection with the incident in Cynon Valley.

Police are treating the incident as murder.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cardiff police on 02920 527303.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the Cardiff Road area between 02:00 and 03:20 on Wednesday.

£1m Of Cars Stolen In Aberdeenshire

Over £1m worth of cars have been stolen in the Aberdeenshire area since October, according to Grampian Police.

Police have warned car-owners to stop "leaving doors open for criminals".

Over 100 cars have been taken since October and the ignition key was used in more than 90% of cases.

86 people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire were charged in connection with car thefts, 13 of whom were under 16.

A 64-year-old mafia boss, on the run for 18 years, has been arrested in London, the Metropolitan Police have said. Domenico Rancadore is described by Italian police as the head of a crime family involved in extortion, racketeering and drug trafficking. He was wanted by Italian authorities in connection with his links to Cosa Nostra.

French Police Arrest Man Over Alps Murder Of British Family
A man has been arrested by French police in connection with the murder of a British family in the Alps in 2012. The 48-year-old man from the Haute-Savoie region is being held in formal custody, French police have said. It is understood that the man was arrested following the publication of an identikit image released in November.

European Arrest Warrant Issued For Teacher
A European arrest warrant has been issued for Jeremy Forrest, the maths teacher who travelled to France with missing schoolgirl Megan Stammers. 30-year-old Forrest and 15-year-old Megan have not been seen since they crossed the Channel from Dover to France on 20 September.

Police Investigating New Forest Murder Arrest Second Man
Police investigating the murder of a woman found dead in the New Forest have arrested a second man. 47-year-old Penelope Davis was found with multiple stab wounds in a field at Leygreen Farm in Beaulieu on 2nd September. Police arrested a 36-year-old man on Tuesday evening in Southampton in connection with the murder.

26-Year-Old Arrested On Suspicion Of Preparing Act Of Terrorism
A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Cornwall by officers from the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (Sectu) on suspicion of preparing for an act of terrorism. Devon and Cornwall Police have said that the arrest operation was "pre-planned" and that the suspect is being held under section five of the Terrorism Act.
