Corruption Report Reveals Police Steroid Use
An anti-corruption report has revealed that dozens of police officers are under investigation over use of anabolic steroids, allegedly supplied to them in gyms by criminals.
Transparency International, an anti-corruption group, were commissioned to compile the report by the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo).
Staffordshire Chief Constable Michael Cunningham, Acpo’s spokesman on professional standards, described the problems caused by officers taking steroids as “a significant threat”.
It is understood that all of the 43 forces in England and Wales were investigating police officers involved in bodybuilding who had formed inappropriate relationships with people supplying the drugs.
The report also says some officers are abusing their power to obtain sexual favours.
Later this week, chief constables will meet to talk about how best to tackle corruption allegations.

UK sends policing advisors to assist in Iraq
Policing experts are traveling to Iraq today to advise on the stabilisation of the security situation and to participate in a review on how to rebuild the Iraqi police service. The team of four will be led by Chief Constable of Hampshire - and Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) international portfolio holder - Paul Kernaghan.

Convicted Police Murderer Dale Cregan Moves To Secure Hospital
The man jailed for the murder of two police officers has been moved from Strangeways prison in Manchester to the maximum-security Ashworth Hospital. 30-year-old Dale Cregan was given a whole-life sentence for the murders of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes as well as father and son David and Mark Short.

The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.
