20 Years For Tenerife Beheading Murderer

The Bulgarian man who beheaded Jennifer Mills-Westley in a Tenerife supermarket has been detained 20 years in a secure unit in Spain.

22-year-old Deyan Deyanov was convicted last week of the attack on Norwich woman, in May 2011.

It is understood the sentence was the maximum possible, and had been requested by prosecutors.

Accused On Trial Over British Woman Beheading In Tenerife
The trial begins today of a man accused of murdering and beheading a British woman on the island of Tenerife in May 2011. 60-year-old Jennifer Mills-Westley had moved to Tenerife after retiring from her job as a road safety officer with Norfolk county council. She was killed on the 13 May in the resort of Los Cristianos in the Canary Islands.

A woman from Oldham has been found guilty of helping her husband plan a "jihad at home" terrorist attack on Bury's Jewish community. Shasta Khan, 38, denied being involved with Mohammed Sajid Khan's plans but was found guilty of engaging in preparation for terrorism and two counts of possessing information useful for terrorism.

Beheading phone video leads to jail term
A man has been jailed for 60 days for showing a woman footage of an Iraqi hostage beheading on his mobile phone. Subhaan Younis, 23, was staying at the Moat House Hotel in Glasgow last September, when he showed the clips to Charlotte McClay, a shop assistant who worked at the hotel.
