KFC Invest In Degree Course For Managers

KFC have become the first fast food chain in the UK to fund an honour degree, as it invests £600,000 to put 60 of its restaurant managers through a three-year business management course with De Montfort University in Leicester.

The investment will cover half of the three-year course with 23 managers, who enrolled in January, beginning their studies today (Thursday).

The first intake of 23 employees will combine residential sessions at the college with full-time work.

KFC will cover the cost of the college accommodation, while the tuition fees will be split half and half between the employer and the employee. The overall cost will be £9,000 over three years, the same figure as the annual tuition fee at many universities in England.
