Godolphin Stable In Doping Inquiry

Godolphin Stable is being investigated as part of a doping inquiry after eleven of its horses tested positive for anabolic steroids.

Godolphin trainer, Mahmood Al Zarooni, is to attend a British Horseracing Authority inquiry after the irregularities were found in 11 of the 45 racehorses.

A statement on the stable's website said: "Al Zarooni has admitted that he was responsible for the administration of the prohibited substances."

The trainer added: "Because the horses involved were not racing at the time, I did not realise that what I was doing was in breach of the rules of racing.

"I can only apologise for the damage this will cause to Godolphin and to racing generally."

The 11 horses have together won more than £1.3m in prize money.

Three More Arrested After FA Cup Violence

Three more men have been arrested in connection with violence at an FA Cup semi-final between Millwall and Wigan.

The arrests bring the total number of people detained so far to 23. The figure includes those who handed themselves in to police. Three people have been charged.

During the second half of Millwall's 2-0 loss to Wigan on April 13, around 20 Millwall fans were involved in clashes behind the goal at Wembley Stadium.

The scenes, which were witnessed by millions on television, left some fans injured and youngsters in tears.

The three men arrested on Tuesday, aged 21, 22 and 27, were picked up at addresses in London by officers from Operation Arrowtip, which targets football-related crime, Scotland Yard said. In addition, a further 17 images have been released of people at the match whom police want to speak to.
