Terror Suspects To have Passports Confiscated

Under new rules proposed by the Home Office, suspected UK terrorist will have their passports confiscated.

The move would prevent Britons travelling abroad to fight or attend terrorist training camps, Theresa May said.

The Home Office says that passport facilities are "contrary to the public interest" for those whose activities are considered "undesirable".

According to the Home Office statement, passports will be removed from people "whose past, present or proposed activities, actual or suspected, are believed by the home secretary to be so undesirable that the grant or continued enjoyment of passport facilities is contrary to the public interest".

Measles Cases Reach 942

As experts warn the measles outbreak in Swansea show no sign of ending, the number of case has reached 942, jumping up by 56 in two days.

Public Health Wales has urged teenagers preparing to sit GCSE and A-level exams to ensure they are vaccinated.

Efforts to vaccinate thousands of children and young adults who missed out in the past are still under way.

British Trio Jailed For Terrorism

Three British men have been jailed for preparing acts of terrorism.

Richard Dart, an ex-police community support officer and a Muslim convert, was jailed for six years, Imran Mahmood received nine years and nine months and Jahangir Alom was jailed for four years and six months.

The London-based trio, who pleaded guilty in March, discussed targeting the town of Royal Wootton Bassett.

The judge said the three were "committed to acts of terrorism".

They were arrested in the capital city weeks before the Olympic Games.
