Man In Court Over Prison Van Escape
A 31-year-old man has appeared in court in Manchester charged with escaping lawful custody, following an incident when a prison van was ambushed in Salford.
Three masked me ambushed the prison van as it made its way to court on April 30.
Stevie McMullen, from Salford, and a second man, 20-year-old Ryan McDonald escaped from the van.
McDonald has yet to be recaptured, with police offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
McMullen was remanded in custody to appear at crown court on Wednesday.

Prisoner Escapee Recaptured
A suspected violent criminal who went on the run after a prison van was stopped by an armed man has been recaptured. Wayne Joseph Connor, 20, was snatched by two men wearing balaclavas as he travelled to court from Feltham Young Offenders' Institution in west London on Monday.

Police Van Death Probe
An investigation has launched into the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a marked police van. Kenneth Thiel-Furber, 26, of Whitchurch died in the early hours of Saturday. He was hit by a Vauxhall Vivaro van on the A41 by the Wrexham Road roundabout. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

Oakwood Prison Incident Resolved
An incident which occurred at Oakwood Prison, near Wolverhampton, has been resolved. Private security firm G4S confirmed the situation is now under control after trouble broke out on one of the prison's wings on Sunday evening. It added that it would be "inappropriate" to give further details of the incident.
