Former Newspaper Owner Charged Over Sex With Underage Girl
Eddy Shah, a former newspaper proprietor has appeared in court charged with child sexual abuse, dating back to the early 1990s.
The Guardian has reported that Shah was arrested in September 2011, along with Susan Davies and her former lover Anthony Pallant.
It is alleged that the schoolgirl was taken to hotels by Davies to have sex with Shah in her presence and also with Davies participating, jurors were told.
The case continues.
Traveller Captives Trial Collapses
The case against four members of a Bedfordshire traveller family accused with keeping vulnerable men in servitude has collapsed, after the jury failed to reach a verdict.
Tommy Connors Sr, 53, and his sons Tommy Jr, 27, James, 25 and Patrick, 21, had denied charges of holding the men captive to work unpaid.
The Crown Prosecution Service is considering if there will be a retrial.
The jury in the case had been deliberating for more than two days.
Queen To Miss Commonwealth Meeting
The Queen will miss her first Commonwealth heads of government meeting since 1973.
Prince Charles will attend in her place.
The amount of long haul travel the Queen undertakes is being reviewed, Buckingham Palace has said.

Officers 'Failed Checks' On Bexleyheath Knife Killer
The Independent Police Complaints Commission has published its findings from an investigation into contact between the Metropolitan Police Service and Nicola Edgington before the murder of Sally Hodkin on Monday 10 October 2011. Mrs Hodkin, 59 from London, died following a fatal stab wound to her neck.

Shaun Wright has resigned from the Labour party, amid increasing pressure following a report on abuse in Rotherham, where he managed children's services between 2005 and 2010. Mr Wright was under increased pressure in light of a report that said almost 1,400 children had been sexually exploited between 1997 and 2013.

Shake-Up For Met Police Rape Unit
Metropolitan police teams that deal with rape and sexual assault cases are facing a shake-up. According to the BBC, it is believed around 100 extra officers will be recruited as the investigators of rape, child abuse and sexual assault are merged into one department.
