38 Year Minimum Sentence For Stuart Hazell

Stuart Hazell will serve a minimum of 38 years after being sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 12-year-old Tia Sharp.

Hazell dramatically changed his plea to guilty on Monday, the fifth day of his trial, saying that the girls family “had suffered enough”.

According to the Guardian, Mr Justice Nicol determined the minimum sentence Hazell was to serve before being considered for release, taking aggravating factors into account.

The newspaper also revealed details from the trial and how Hazell had taken photographs of Tia naked and in a sexual position after he had killed her on the 2 or 3 of August last year.

Police also found memory cards that had been hidden containing child pornography and bestiality.
