Neville Neville Charged With Sexual Assault

The father of former England footballers, Gary and Phil Neville, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

The 63-year-old from Bury, Greater Manchester, was originally arrested following an alleged attack on a 46-year-old woman in March.

Following a review of evidence gathered after the complaint, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised Greater Manchester Police to charge Mr Neville.

He is due to appear at Bury Magistrates' Court on 12 June.

Neville, who was his sons' agent, is the commercial director and commercial manager of Bury Football Club. He was also involved in the fans' group 'Save Our Shakers' which was formed when the club faced bankruptcy in 2002.

Due to criminal proceedings now underway, the Crown Prosecution Service said they would be making no further comment about the case at this time.
