Man Arrested After Mother And Baby Murdered
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a mother and her baby son in Birmingham.
The bodies of a 25-year-old woman and the nine-month-old boy were found at a house in Chells Grove at about 10.30amm on Sunday morning.
A 28-year-old man was later arrested in Dudley on suspicion on both murders. The man is known to the victims and West Midlands Police have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
The police added that the case had now been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as a result of "previous contact between police and the person in custody".
Superintendent Jo Chilton said: "This is a terrible crime and my thoughts are with the family of the victims who have been left devastated by today's events.
"We have a man in custody and are not looking for anyone else, but I am keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who may have seen anything which could assist our investigation."
Chells Grove has been cordoned off while the scene is examined.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.
