Co-op Staff Call For End To Advert
The Co-op is facing a backlash from its own employees over a television ad, which uses Christmas themes for its summer campaign.
Created by ad agency Leo Burnett, the advert features a child making a "snow angel" in a sandbox and a couple sharing a kiss while under a sprig of salad. It is soundtracked by Andy Williams' The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, a song strongly associated with Christmas.
Employees of the Co-op have taken to the company's Facebook and Twitter pages, called for the retailer to "stop playing it", with others complaining over the choice over music.
The retailer however have said that ad has certainly got people talking about the Co-op.
