Automatic Block For Online Pornography

The Prime Minister is due to announce an automatic block on internet pornography in the UK, as well as make the possession of so-called "rape fantasy" pornography illegal.

It is understood that "family friendly filters", will be selected automatically for both new and existing internet customers, who will have to 'opt-in' if they wish to access pornography online.

Mr Cameron also hopes to have certain "horrific" search terms banned, meaning that no results would show should somebody carry out such a search.

Other measures expected to be introduced by Mr Cameron include online streaming video being subject to the same restrictions applied to videos sold in hops; an October deadline for ISPs to further block illegal content; warning pop-up pages with helpline number when someone searches for illegal content; and more powers for the Child Exploitation and Online Protection to examine secretive file-sharing networks.

In a speech to be delivered later today, Mr Cameron will say: "Let me be clear to any offender who might think otherwise: there is no such thing as a safe place on the internet to access child abuse material."
