Police Release CCTV Of Shop Arson Attack

Police have released CCTV images of arsonists setting fire to a shop in Liverpool, with the owner still inside.

The arson attack happened at Robinson News on Priory Road, Anfield, on June 08.

The images show two people squirting a liquid into the shop as the owner, Jude Jeevan stands behind the counter. They then set fire to the liquid.

As Mr Jeevan, 48, tried to escape the blaze he slipped in the liquid and fell into the fire suffering serious burns to his hands and arms.

The fire badly damaged the shop and the flat above.

A large-scale investigation is continuing into the arson and a number of possible motives are still being explored, Merseyside Police have said.
