Lawson And Saatchi Granted Decree Nisi

The ten-year marriage of Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi has come to an end following a court haring lasting just over one minute.

A decree nisi was granted in divorce proceedings begun by Saatchi last month.

It followed an incident in which the art collector was photographed gripping the TV chef by the throat outside a London restaurant.

The pictures were published in the media, but Saatchi dismissed it as a "playful tiff".

However, he later accepted a police caution in relation to the incident.

A decree absolute will be issued, usually taking around six weeks, which will officially end the marriage.

Ms Lawson has not made any comment since the incident.
