30 Arrested In 8 Days Or Fracking Protest

Four people have been arrested after an antique fire engine was used to block access to the site of exploratory oil drilling in West Sussex.

It brings the total of people arrested during the eight day protest to 30.

The protests have caused delays to the start of work that energy company Cuadrilla were granted permission to carry out.

Concerns have been raised about the tactics of police dealing with the protesters.

Stolen War Mermorial Plaques Recovered

Police Scotland have confirmed that commemorative plaques stolen in July from a war memorial in Milhathort have been found.

It is understood the three bronze plaques were recovered in Fife but police are continuing investigations to find the thieves.

'Hobbit-Style' Eco Home To Be Demolished

An appeal against the demolition of a 'hobbit-style' eco home in Pembrokeshire has been lost.

A council demand to destroy the property near Crymych has been upheld by the Planning Inspectorate.

Owner's Charlie Hague and Megan Williams argued that the straw-walled house had low impact on the environment.

But inspectors said that did not change rules on building in rural areas.

50 People Arrested During Protest March In London
Police arrested 50 people last night following an anti-capitalist protest in London. 48 suspects remain in custody while one person has been charged with assaulting a police officer and another received a caution. Large crowds gathered to take part in the Million Mask March on 05 November.

Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Op Trazer 'Dismantles Criminal Networks'
A series of raids, led by Greenwich’s Violent and Organised Crime Unit (VOCU), have tackled the supply of class A and B drugs in the borough. The police operation, code-named Operation Trazer, involved 1000 police officers and partners and targeted 45 addresses yesterday morning.

14 Arrested At Student Protest
Fourteen people have been arrested at a student protest at the University of Birmingham. Police were called after violence broke out during the demonstration. The University said that staff were injured when smoke bombs and fireworks were thrown and doors were smashed open.
