Man Arrested In Scottish Organised Crime Investigation

A man has been arrested by Scottish police officers investigating serious organised crime in the Forth Valley and Fife areas.

The 32-year-old's arrest is part of a 10-month-long operation, during which, officers working for Police Scotland's Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit East Command targeted 12 houses in the Clackmannanshire, Clydebank, Falkirk and Fife areas.

Detective Inspector Douglas Telfer, of the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit based in Stirling, said: "This is part of an ongoing operation during which in excess of £50,000 in cash and £200,000 worth of drugs, including cannabis resin, Diazepam and amphetamine, have been seized.

"Since the start of the operation, 21 people have been arrested and this latest development has seen the man we believe to be responsible for leading this serious organised crime group brought to justice."

He continued: "This operation has spanned the central belt of Scotland from Fife and Lothian's, through the Forth Valley and into the Clydebank area."

The operation was led by officers from the Specialist Crime Division of Police Scotland supported by community officers from Forth Valley and Fife.
