Two Dead In Light Airplane Sea Crash
A light aircraft has been forced to ditch into the sea off Jersey killing two people.
They are believed to be British residents, police have said.
It is believed that the plane was travelling from the Channel Islands to Dinan in France.
The alarm was raised at 10am after the UK-based Cessna hit the water about five miles from the airport.
Jersey Police are investigating the crash along with the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB).
Hospital Fined Over Legionella Deaths
Basildon Hospital in Essex has been ordered to pay £350,000 in fines and costs over the deaths of two patients from Legionnaires' disease.
In 2007 and 2010, two patients contracted the pneumonia bacteria while at the hospital.
Six more were infected during the same period. The hospital admitted failings under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
FA Chairman Lays Out Long-Term Plan For England
The England football team should aim to reach the semi-finals of Euro 2020 and win the World Cup in 2022, according to Football Association chairman Greg Dyke.
Dyke made his call in a speech in which he also cautioned that "England may not be able to compete seriously on the world stage without changes."
Dyke said that he will set up an FA commission to ask key questions on how England can change its long-term prospects.

Man Jailed For Attempting To Kill Neighbours' Cat
A man who attempted to kill his neighbours' cat in Hereford has been sentenced to 20 weeks in prison. Karl Dyke, 52, admitted trying to murder the Siamese cat in July. Michael and Tracey Lawrence saw Dyke dangling the cat from a rope in his shed. The cat was not injured in the incident.

The 'green light' has been given for 15 new NHS hospital developments in a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) deal worth more than £4 billion, it has been announced today. Today's announcement will bring investment in new NHS hospitals to more than £16 billion since 1997, the health department said.

BBC hits staff ethnicity targets
The BBC has announced that it has met and slightly exceeded the target set in 2000 to have 10% ethnic minority staff by the end of 2003. As a result nearly 650 more people from ethnic minority backgrounds now work at the BBC compared with four years ago.
