Man Knocked Unconscious In Skateboard Robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after robbers knocked a man unconscious and stole a distinctive motorised skateboard from him in Preston Park, Brighton.

Sussex Police said the incident happened around 11pm on Friday (6 September).

The 32-year-old victim, who was on the skateboard at the time, was approached by four men. One distracted him as another hit him from behind, knocking him unconscious. His skateboard, a rucksack containing a Samsung Galaxy tablet, and wallet were subsequently stolen.

DC Paul Candy, from Brighton CID, said: "Fortunately the victim escaped serious harm and did not require hospital treatment, but he sustained a lump and bruise to his head as a result of the attack.

"The skateboard is a Rokit Science Boom Borda 2 with large offroad tyres, similar to the one in the photo that has been released.

"Anyone looking to sell this on may struggle to do so as they're quite rare and the victim is well known in Brighton for riding round on his."

Police have asked anyone with any information about the robbery, or knows who has this skateboard, to call police as soon as possible on 101, quoting serial 1882 of 06/09.

Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 08000 555111.
