Funeral Held For Sir David Frost

Family and close friends of broadcaster and writer, Sir David Frost, have attended his funeral.

The service was held at the Holy Trinity Church in Nuffield, Oxfordshire.

Among those in attendance, was Sir Michael Parkinson, Ronnie Corbett and Stephen Fry.

Sir David Frost died on 1 September at the age of 74 after suffering a heart attack while on board a cruise ship.

The Reverend Brendan Bailey, who led Wednesday's service, tweeted: "Had immense privilege of conducting Sir David Frost's funeral yesterday.

"Very simple, moving occasion. Please pray for his family."

According to the BBC, a public memorial service will be held at a later date.

New British Army Chief Named
General Sir David Richards, the former commander of Nato forces in Afghanistan, has been announced as the new officer to head the British Army. Currently serving as Commander-in-Chief Land Forces, Gen Sir Richards will take up the post as Chief of the General Staff in August 2009. He will replace General Sir Richard Dannatt.

Govt To Focus On Gene Treatments
A report to Government on genomic technology published on Wednesday has called for greater use of gene therapy in the health service. The report from the Human Genomics Strategy Group, chaired by Professor Sir John Bell, analysed the UK’s use of genetics research to date and proposes a "strategic vision" to realise the future benefit of genomics.
