Guests Evacuated After Cambridge Hotel Fire

Some 150 people have been evacuated from a hotel in Cambridge after a fire broke out at around 6am on Tuesday morning.

More than 60 firefighters from Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire tackled the blaze at the De Vere University Arms Hotel in Cambridge city centre.

A number of city centre streets, including Regent Street, have been closed and diversions are in place.

It is understood that the fire broke out on the upper floor of the hotel, damaging at least two rooms and spreading to the roof.

There have been no reports of any injuries and the fire is now said to be under control.
