Merseyside Police Track Stolen Pendant

Merseyside Police have released a picture of a pendant that was stolen following a burglary in Maghull earlier this month.

The incident began when officers were called to a house on Green Lane on Friday, 4 October following a report that it had been burgled sometime between Tuesday, 24 September and Friday, 4 October while the owners were away.

A number of items were stolen, including a distinctive pendant (pictured), which is of sentimental value to the owner. The item is a Waterford crystal pendant with a clock face in the centre of it.

Anyone with any information about the pendant or information that could be relevant to the inquiry are asked to contact Sefton CID on 0151 777 3046 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Men Arrested In Manchester Drugs Bust

Greater Manchester Police have arrested four men and recovered two kilos of suspected class A drugs, worth an estimated £100k.

On Wednesday, officers from GMP’s Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) stopped a Volkswagen Caddy van near to the East Lancashire Road, Swinton.

Two men, aged 32 and 26, were arrested and one kilo of class A drugs was seized.

A third man, aged 32 was arrested on Cromwell Road while a fourth man drove off from the scene in a Volkswagen Golf.

The Golf collided with a Honda Civic at the Texaco garage on Mount Skip Lane.

A further kilo of what is believed to be class A controlled drugs was recovered in the car.

The occupants of the Civic – a man and woman in their 40s, a woman in her 20s and a one-year-old baby - were treated for minor injuries.

All four men have been arrested in relation to the supply and possession of class A drugs.

Fatal Road Collision, West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision at about 11:45 on Wednesday morning on Hemsworth Road, Hemsworth.

A dark blue Ford Focus, travelling towards Hemsworth, was in collision with a dark blue Toyota Corolla travelling in the opposite direction.

The 79-year-old male driver of the Corolla subsequently died at the scene of the incident and the 77-year-old female passenger suffered fractured ribs.

The 47-year-old male driver of the Focus sustained serious internal injuries. The 44-year-old male rear seat passenger in the vehicle also received serious leg and internal injuries.

All those injured were transported to Leeds General Infirmary.

Met Police Investigate Death Of 6-Year-Old

Metropolitan Police are investigating the death of a six-year-old girl from Sutton.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service shortly after 15.35 on Monday, 28 October, regarding a six-year-old girl found collapsed at an address in Sutton.

She was taken to a south London hospital where she pronounced dead at 16.01hrs.

Next of kin have been made aware.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Woman Arrested At Heathrow On Terrorism Charges
A 25-year-old woman has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of terrorism offences. It is understood that the woman was travelling with her one-year-old son when officers arrested her as she disembarked a flight from Turkey. Police said her charges relate to offences in Syria.

11 Arrested After Two People Jump From Stena Ferry
An investigation into two people missing from a ferry has led to the arrest of 11 people in the Netherlands. The Stena Britannica, sailing from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, reported on Thursday morning that two passengers were missing, and were thought to have jumped overboard.

London bombings ‘suspect’ charged
A man arrested last weekend in connection with the July 7 London bombings has been charged with wasting police time. Imran Patel, 27, from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was arrested last Saturday, on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism. The arrest followed a tip-off from the ‘News of the World’.

Release Of Police Killer Described As 'Sickening'
The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.
