Man Charged With Manslaughter After Two Teen Girls Die In Gosport

A man has been charged with manslaughter after two teenage girls were killed after being struck by a car in Hampshire.

Jasmine Allsop, 14, and Olivia Lewry, 16, were hit by a Honda Civic in the early hours of Sunday in Gosport.

Jasmine was pronounced dead at the scene and Olivia later died at the Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Samual Etherington, 20, has been charged with two counts of gross negligence manslaughter.

He is to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court later today.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Two 14-Year-Old Boys Charged With Manslaughter
Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 41-year-old father-of-two in Leicester. Ponnuthurai Nimalaraja, known as Nimal, was assaulted at the junction of Gypsy Lane and Northfield Road shortly after 23:00 on 9 June. Mr Nimalaraja died in hospital on 16 June, one week after being attacked.

Former surgeon charged with triple manslaughter
Mr Steven Walker, 46, a surgeon reportedly struck off by the BMA for professional misconduct, has been charged in Blackpool with three counts of manslaughter. The charges, relating to the deaths of Margaret Wilson, 63, Dorothy McPhee, 71, and Jean Robinson, 66, all from the Blackpool area, were delivered at a Blackpool police station.

Mobile Customers To Share £1m Refund
Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

British man Shrien Dewani, 34, suspected of arranging the murder of his 28-year-old wife on their honeymoon has arrived in South Africa to face trial after a three-year legal battle against extradition due to his mental health problems.
