Barratts Enters Administration
Barratts Shoes has entered administration.
The retailer, which employs more than 1,000 people across UK and Ireland, appointed Duff & Phelps as joint administrators on Friday afternoon.
In a statement Duff & Phelps said: "The joint administrators are reviewing the company's financial position whilst seeking a going concern sale of the business.
"At this stage redundancies and/or store closures cannot be ruled out."
The administrators blamed the "difficult trading conditions".
Barratts Shoes employs 1,035 workers, 521 of which are part-time.

Administrators for financially crippled Rangers are meeting players and staff at the club's Murray Park training complex on Thursday morning. It is believed that a programme of job cuts is to be arranged but it will be next week at the earliest before details emerge.

High Wycombe-based specialist truck and bus manufacturer Mayflower has confirmed that talks with lenders have broken down and is in discussions with administrators. Yesterday the board of Mayflower requested that the listing of its ordinary shares be "suspended with immediate effect".
